Peanut Olson
Daschund, Baby Girl
July 12, 1996 - April 3, 2007
Peanut came into our lives just after Labor Day in 1996. We were searching for another puppy to love after losing our precious Daisy (also a Daschund) several weeks earlier during her spaying surgery.
Peanut found us after searching the entire mid-west for a breeder with a pup who was ready for a new home. She was only a few miles from us and the last of her litter.
When we went to see her, the entire litter was in the yard of the breeder in tall grass. When she saw us she ran through the grass to jump into Bev's arms. She stayed in Bev's arms for the rest of her life.
Energetic, loving, protective and very, very smart characterized Peanut.
She went everywhere with us. She loved traveling.
She was truly our "little girl."
Peanut went to heaven on April 3, 2007 after two years of battling congestive heart failure and two bouts of immune mediated hemolytic anemia.
Our hearts are broken. There's a sadness that may never leave us. Our home is incredibly quiet and empty.
This site is for us to share Peanuts beauty and love.
To a degree, the site is also to honor the dedicated and skilled veterinarians and vet techs who cared for Peanut. Their compassion and skill allowed us to have almost two additional years with our little girl. Click here to see those who have become our friends.
Enjoy.
Peanut, we love you and miss you. 'Till we see you again...
